Here’s a list of the products that I currently wear on an almost daily basis:
Primer: Elf Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacinamide
Why I use it: Primers provide a smooth canvas for your foundation and blurs flaws and helps your foundation stay on for hours and hours. I’ve used many primers, including expensive ones.
Why I like this product: The Elf Power Grip Primer + 4% Niacinamide is one of the best primers I’ve tried and only $10!
Foundation: TIRTIR cushion foundation – 21N Ivory
Why I use it: After wearing Estee Lauder Double Wear for years – I’m talking double-digits – I felt it was too heavy, especially for my aging skin. I’m obsessed with Korean skincare, so after seeing the TirTir cushion foundation continually popping up on my Instagram feed, I decided to give it a try.
Why I like this product: Although I was a little skeptical about cushion foundations, I love this amazing product. It allows buildable coverage. It makes skin look flawless. Plus, it stays on all day, even withstanding the Florida humidity and Peloton rides.
Concealer: Tarte
What I love about it:
Setting Powder Face: Laura Mercier – Translucent Loose Setting Powder
What I love about it: It doesn’t cake or look powdery and it’s camera friendly. I’m still looking for the “perfect” loose/setting powder, but this one comes pretty close. I only use a small amount of this powder under my eyes to catch eyeshadow fallout.
Setting Powder Under Eyes: Laura Mercier – Translucent Loose Setting Powder
Bronzer: Rare Beauty
Why I use it: I use this bronzing powder to contour below my check bone and my temples to my forehead.
Blush: Rare Beauty
What I love about it: I don’t use a lot of blush as I have naturally rosey cheeks. However, when I do, this one goes on nicely and stays on throughout the day. Your blush should reflect the natural blushing of the face, and this one does.
Highlighter:
What I love about it:
Eye Shadow Primer: Urban Decay Potion – Sin
What I love about it: If someone asked me what one makeup product I would want if stranded on a deserted island, this would probably be it. I absolutely love this product. It not only serves as a great eye shadow base but also a great eye shadow base color. You could use a 99 cent drugstore eye shadow and it would look good with this primer. Don’t let the cost fool you. Although it seems expensive ($20), one tube last me an entire year – and I wear it almost daily.
Eye Shadow: Trend Beauty wanted eyeshadow palette – the rose gold shade (base); The Little One Lawless eyeshadow palette – plunge (matte black)
How I apply eyeshadow: After applying eye shadow primer, I apply the rose gold shade on my eyelid to slightly above the crease. I then apply matte black eyeshadow to the outside corner of the lid, up to the crease. Next, I apply black eyeliner to my top lash line and apply black eyeshadow over the liner to set it. I then apply the warm metallic bronze from the inner corner of the eyelid to the center of the eyelid. Finally, I apply the creamy matte white shade below the brow and inner corner of eye. Throughout this entire process, I blend, blend, blend!
Eye Liner: The Little One Lawless eyeshadow palette – plunge (matte black)
What I love about these: I only use this eyeline on my top lashes. It goes on well and last all day long. I use an eyeshadow on my lower lashes.
Mascara: Benefit – They’re Real – Tinted Lash Primer & Mascara (Black)
What I love about these:I need a mascara that will thicken and lengthen my lashes, but also stay on and not “run for the hills” as the day goes on. Benefit’s They’re Real! is my favorite out of all their mascaras. I recently added the tinted lash primer to my routine to help thicken and lengthen. The primer is a deep brown and could be worn alone if you prefer a more natural look.
Lip Liner: Revlon Colorstay – Chocolate and Wine
What I love about it: Yes, one of the few “drug store” makeup products I use, but it’s a great lip liner. This lip liner goes on easy and stays on all day long. Combined with the lipstick I use, I seldom need to re-touch my lipstick.
Lipstick: Kylie Cosmetics – Matte Liquid Lipstick
What I love about it:
I have used Great Lash mascara since I began wearing makeup at 12 years of age(I will be 55 this April so I’ve been using this product for a very long time!) I’ve tried others, but always go back to Great Lash.
